Washington Area Commodore User Group Minutes of the Board of Directors Meeting 22 May 1999 Board Meeting Attendance - Alex Goodale, Geof Goodrum, Bob Mason, Kathy Perrin, Lu Spriggs, and Mike ten Kate Minutes - Minutes from the March and April board meetings were distributed and approved without modification. Comments on General Meeting - Good meeting with a top-down review of Microsoft's Office 2000 suite by Bob Mason and Internet Explorer 5.0 by Geof Goodrum. Attendance at General Meeting - 30 Treasurer's Report - The Treasurer was not able to attend. Disk Sales/Membership Status - Last meeting sales total was $56. The total for May was $44 for fourteen PC disks and one 8-bit disk set. Total membership stands at 59. General Discussion - Bob Mason provided a draft letter to Erols proposing the establishment of a courtesy account for the club in return for WAC's sponsorship of Erols. The letter was approved with only one modification (that is, 10 megabytes of web space as opposed to 5 megabytes). Geof noted that he will be passing on a number of miscellaneous club bills to the Treasurer. Bob made the point that he owes the club $20.00 for an ad he placed in the Cursor. Alex Goodale agreed to review a copy of PowerQuest's DataKeeper software. Geof said that he has developed a listing of about one-hundred web sites he would like to reference on the club's site. He intends to add these sites in the near future. Finally, the board approved half-price membership for new members starting at the next club meeting through the end of the membership year. Future Meetings - We discussed the June swap meet/help clinic. Geof agreed to make the usual publicity arrangements (notice on the web site, Journal newspaper announcements, FastFoward notice, etc.) Bob said he would work with Kathy Perrin to post a limited number of signs on the day of swap meet/help clinic. We discussed the possibility of including "auctions on the net" as part of an Internet theme day at a future meeting Meeting adjourned
