Chess Training Tools - v1.2.14. Free GNU General Public License Java code by Dietrich Kappe. Chess Training Tools includes a chess visualization trainer that teaches chess visualization by drilling you on the color of a particular square, and also on your ability to tell if two squares are the same color, if two (or three) squares are on the same diagonal, if two squares are a knight move apart, or if two squares are two knight moves apart. It includes a weak chess program (called Vince) that lets you lag the display by several ply, hide all pieces or all pawns, and block out quadrants of the board. Furthermore, it includes an opening memorization trainer.

Numerical Python - v0.98. Free GNU General Public License Python code by Jay Miller and Travis Oliphant. The fundamental package needed for scientific computing with Python is called NumPy. This package contains a powerful N-dimensional array object, sophisticated (broadcasting) functions, basic linear algebra functions, basic Fourier transforms, sophisticated random number capabilities, and tools for integrating Fortran code. NumPy derives from the old Numeric code base and can be used as a replacement for Numeric. It also adds the features introduced by numarray and can also be used to replace numarray.

pdftk - v1.12. Free GNU General Public License source code by Sid Steward and packages for Debian stable, Fedora Core 5, Mandriva 2006.0, and OpenSUSE 10.0. Pdftk is a simple, command line tool for doing everyday things with PDF documents. Use it to merge PDF documents, split PDF pages into a new document, decrypt input as necessary (password required), encrypt output as desired, fill PDF forms with FDF data or flatten forms, apply a background watermark, report on PDF metrics, update PDF metadata, attach files to PDF pages or the PDF document, unpack PDF attachments, burst a PDF document into single pages, decompress and re-compress page streams, and repair corrupted PDF files (where possible).

PyGame - v1.7.1. Free GNU Lesser General Public License source code by Pete Shinners and packages for Debian testing, Fedora Core 5 and Mandriva 2006.0. Pygame is a set of Python modules designed for writing games. It is written on top of the excellent SDL library. This allows you to create fully featured games and multimedia programs in the python language. Pygame is highly portable and runs on nearly every platform and operating system.

Trip on the Funny Boat - v1.1. Free GNU General Public License Python code and Creative Commons License music, sound and graphics by Olli Etuaho and Pekka Kujansuu. Trip on the Funny Boat is side scrolling arcade shooter game on a steamboat equipped with a cannon and the ability to jump. The player will need to take advantage of waves to defeat the enemies and dodge hazards. The game participated in the second PyWeek competition held in April 2006, and placed first in the team category. Requires Python 2.4, PyGame 1.7 and Numeric Python.

GNU/Linux Distibution Updates - Security and bug fix monthly updates for Fedora Core 5.

Kernel Source - kernel 2.4.32 with optional grsecurity and 2.4.33-pre2 patches and kernel 2.6.16 with optional 2.6.16.16 (stable) and 2.6.17-rc4 (testing) patches. Grsecurity 2.1.8 patches and administration utilities are included for the 2.4.32 and 2.6.14.6 kernels.
